The Roger Ballen Centre for Photography and the Inside Out Centre for the Arts are located in Forest Town, Johannesburg, and can be visited together as part of a single cultural destination.

Entry Policies:

No food or drinks inside the gallery.

Photography allowed, but no flash or tripods.

Please respect the artwork and maintain a safe distance.
Both Centres are wheelchair friendly.

Guided Educational Tours:

The Roger Ballen Centre for Photography offers guided educational tours for school groups, designed to support critical engagement with photography, visual culture, and contemporary themes explored in the exhibitions.

​

Guided tours must be pre-booked and are offered to groups of up to 30 learners.

​

• Duration: One hour

• Age group: Students 16 years and older

• Entry fee: R50 per student. Arrangements for subsidised entry costs and transport can be made for under-served schools. ​

​

Tours are facilitated by trained guides and are tailored to encourage discussion, visual analysis, and contextual understanding of the exhibitions. Education materials are available for students to engage with during their visit.
