A sculptural installation which reimagines the body as architecture shaped by connection. This living retrospective unites eight collaborators into one garment, challenging the idea of solitary creation and emphasizing shared influence, collective memory, and the intertwined threads that form artistic identity.
In no particular order
Suzaan Heyns has long viewed the human body as an architectural site—a foundation where fabric and narrative converge. In this installation, the architecture transcends stone and mortar, revealing itself as the unseen threads that bind us to one another.
'In no particular order' is a living retrospective. The sculpture stands as a composite silhouette, a garment stitched together from the creative DNA of eight pivotal collaborators. These friends, mentors, and spirits have shared Heyns’ journey through the fashion landscape. While some hands continue to weave their stories today and others have since laid down their needles, their influence remains knotted into the very grain of this work.
By unifying these eight distinct voices into a single form, Heyns dissolves the myth of the "solo creator." She reminds us that no artist is an island; we are all bound by a shared warp and weft, a collective construction where every hand carries equal weight.
