Le bâtiment du centre Inside Out
Le nom « Inside Out » reflète l’idée selon laquelle les expositions du Centre encourageront l’introspection, et la conception du bâtiment s’inspire du même objectif. Le béton brut est utilisé sur les surfaces intérieures et extérieures du bâtiment, cette dernière dissimulant l'entrée qui s'ouvre sur un espace à couper le souffle, à double volume et éclairé naturellement.
"Je pense parfois que le bâtiment a l'air d'avoir été retourné" à l'envers "", commente Ballen, qui a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec l'architecte local Joe van Rooyen de JVR Architects pour créer un bâtiment emblématique.
